We're pleased to announce the return of Buffos Wake on Thursday 29 October.
Buffo’s Wake is a dark, theatrical gypsy-punk band formed in Brighton, UK. Describing themselves as a "twelve-legged beast", they are renowned for their highly energetic, chaotic live performances that blend Eastern European, Balkan and Russian folk music with punk rock, klezmer and dark cabaret.
The band's eccentric sound draws from a massive range of instrumentation, including accordions, violins, clarinets, and an extravagant brass section. Their music ranges from upbeat waltzes and fast-paced mosh pits to haunting "Slavic murder ballads" . . .
