Chris Helme is an English singer-songwriter best known as the former lead vocalist of the 1990s Britpop/indie rock band The Seahorses. Formed by former Stone Roses guitarist John Squire, the band achieved massive commercial success with their 1997 platinum-selling debut album Do It Yourself, spawning iconic anthems like "Love Is the Law" and "Blinded by the Sun".
Once turning solo, Chris shifted toward a critically acclaimed, folk-infused acoustic style. His songwriting draws comparisons to legends like Gram Parsons and Neil Young.
