Simon Whitworth, the creative force behind Doggett, is no stranger to reinvention. A veteran of the music scene, he first tasted stardom in the early 80s as a 16 year old in the new romantic band G. I Orange which skyrocketed to fame in Japan before disbanding when he was 21. The turbulent years that followed became the crucible for his art, fueling both his music and writing.
Doggett marks a return to Simons roots, a nod to the pop-punk and new wave sounds that shaped his youth. Influenced by bands like The Strangerles, The Who, and The Jam, he crafts bass lines that don't just support but demand attention.
In the past two years Simon has released to Doggett E.ps Razor and Bull Ring and is due to celebrate the release of his first Doggett album Suicidal empathy in May 2026.
