Our first Independent Venue Week announcement comes in the form of a double header, with James Walsh of Starsailor and Ben Ottewell of Gomez on Sunday 31 January.
Best known as the lead singer, guitarist and primary songwriter of the multi-platinum indie-rock band Starsailor. James Walsh is famous for anthemic hits like "Good Souls" and "Alcoholic", alongside solo albums like Turning Point and his latest EP, Renewal. He is also a Strings regular, having recently played with the full band at Strings.
Ben Ottewell is a founding member, singer and guitarist of the indie-rock band Gomez, whose 1998 debut album Bring It On won the Mercury Prize. He is highly regarded for his unmistakable, soulful baritone voice and blues-inspired guitar work.
During this intimate acoustic show, both singer-songwriters perform a dedicated solo set drawing from their iconic band discographies and solo records, before uniting on stage for a collaborative encore!
Don't miss the meeting of these to British music icons.
